"There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn't that kind of the point?"
-Pam Beesley
Like a lot of people, I am a huge fan of The Office. This probably isn't the first thing you'd expect to read in a photographer's "About Me" section, but I swear it is relevant! Actually, a lot of the images you see on this website were probably edited with The Office on in the background. Anyways, the whole series ends with the above quote from Pam. She's answering her own question about why the filmmakers chose to do a documentary about a Scranton paper company. This is her conclusion: the beauty of the things we see everyday - laughter, family, friendships, relationships - is worth capturing. I couldn't agree more.
My photography roots begin with my dad. Like a true photographer, he takes pictures every chance he can. I learned (and still learn!) a lot by joining him on his adventures. I eventually realized my own love for photography while traveling and hiking. I found myself wanting to capture what I was seeing, from foreign cities full of life and intricate details of famous architecture to light dancing through tree tops and clouds moving across mountains. There are fleeting compositions in everyday moments, just waiting to be lit up with a camera.
I took that newfound love of photography and expanded it with time, practice, and care. The result is what you see here today. Take a look around! If you like what you see, contact me! I would be honored to capture the beautiful, ordinary moments in your life.
